Greetings,

I would like to rename a folder within the inetput\wwwroot
directory, but when I try to do so, I get the error
message:

"Cannot rename <foldername>: Access is denied. Make sure
the disk is not full or write-protected and that the file
is not currently in use."

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

John

John,
You need to be administrator for this to work. It is a permissions
problem. If you right click on the folder you want to rename and click
properties. There should be a security tab. If there is not try disabling
simple file sharing. This should allow you to change the permissions for
that folder. Just make sure you undo anything you change before you open the
site to the web.

Good Luck

You may also need to disable the VD on the directory first then re-enable it
later. (I haven't tried to do this, but it's quite logical to disconnect all
attached running process before renaming a file or directory.)
